Trip to Boracay- Day 2

My sister was saying that I was salty balls in the morning because of my drink that I had the night before. I wasn’t salty balls! She is just a loser!

We had to wake up early because Tita Tita’s birthday was on that day and they usually go to mass on their birthdays. I am pretty sure that we went to the 7 am mass. I think there was a total of of 10 people in the chruch. The mass wasn’t that long and plus everything was in visayan. Haha, with occasional english and tagalog words here and there. I know that when we had to say “peace be with you” we hug each other and we gave beso-beso. And after the mass is when we had to mano.

I liked the church. It was a bit hot but that was okay! Oh, yeah! It was then when me and jas rode the tricycle for the first time since we arrived in the Philippines. The tricycles in Boracay are a bit different from the others because they actually have two seats in the front and two seats in the back! So, OMG, the five of us all fit in the trike.

Ah! While heading back to the hotel, we passed by Obama Cafe. I was like, “Whaa?”

We ate at Astoria’s breakfast buffet. Usual breakfast buffet. They did have an omelet and pancake station though! And they had arroz caldo! Jas fell in LOVE with Danggit Fried Rice. I didn’t like their oj because I was pretty sure that they used tangerines. BLEH!

It was pretty early so no one was eating breakfast. The view was nice where we were sitting. It was cloudy though and it rained during the night. You could finally see the beach! White Beach to be exact. Haha, I know that it must have been super cold.

I think we rested for a bit after breakfast and after we headed out to explore!

While walking down the strip of Station 1, Tita and Tito was like, “Hey, do you want to braid your hair?” There were a group of people that braid hair, it was pretty cool because they do it like cornrows. Jas and I were happy because Tita Tita didn’t pressure us to REBOND our hair. Unlike Tita Fe. I think Tita Tita liked Jas’s long hair. Haha. I’m pretty sure we were her first customer. So, I think they were desperate to have someone. AND, they were pretty amazed by my sissy’s long hair. Haha, a lot of people were looking too. Well, Jas does have nice hair. Anyway, while Tita was sitting on the bench waiting, Kuya Mark, me and Tito Jimmy went to go explore “White Beach”. It was pretty nice. The sand felt good. It was cold and SUPER fine. Just like Kailua Beach. But the water was filled with seaweed. Eek! Haha, Tita Tita was like,”Mark….Mark be careful anak.” Haha. I think it took about 30~45 minutes for the lady to finish Jas’ hair. It looked good. And, I think it was only 350 pesos! How great was that?! Jeez, I had to pay like 6 times that amount for only partial cornrows for her prom! Since Jas had long hair, it totally matched. People stared at her like something was wrong. Haha.

We walked a short bit to d’mall and it was pretty cool. All those boutiques for tourists! We didn’t buy anything just yet though. I know that we wanted to call our parents to see what they wanted.

After walking to d’mall we headed towards d’talipapa. It wasn’t that far of a walk from d’mall. It was fairly hot though. Tita and Tito said that it was shops that sold souvenirs at a much cheaper price than at d’mall. They were correct about that! T-shirts were 2 for 140 pesos. Cheap huh?! They had knockoff surf brands too! I think it was around 500 pesos for “Quiksilver” boardshorts. d’talipapa had this shop where it was just dedicated to slippers. BIG slippers. Like weird size and shape slippers. There was one in a shape of a weeweee! Haha. The shirt designs weren’t that cool, I mean it was only 70 pesos each. The thing is, before you buy anything, you should scope out the area and see all the things that the shops have to offer. And then you can buy stuff. I felt bad because Kuya Mark was stuck with us the whole time when we were just looking around.

Tita and Tito had gone to the wet market and bought food! FRESH FOOD! There is this restaurant across the wet market that cooks the food you bought at the market and OMG, the best food we had at Boracay. A definitely GO-TO. I mean, I was thinking “We are going to eat lunch here?” I was so wrong. The food was awesome. And Tita said that the seafood was cheap! All of the food she bought was less than 1000 pesos! Can you believe that? She bought oysters, crabs and shrimp!

Right when we finished lunch, it started to rain. I’m pretty sure that Tita brought the umbrella from the hotel. It wasn’t raining that much when we stepped out but when we were walking to the front of d’talipapa Tito Jimmy saw SANTOL! EEEK! I was so stoked to see it. I bought half kilo of santol and it only cost me 17 pesos. I felt bad because they wanted 20, but Tito Jimmy was like no, its 17 pesos. Because it was so small. :(

SINCE Tita Tita was NOT going to walk back to the hotel, we took the tricycle. Kuya Mark, Jas and me went first and then Tita and Tito was behind.

We got back to the hotel around 12 ish. Kuya Mark wanted to finish up his henna tattoo so the three of us went back to the artist. I wanted to get a henna tattoo but I couldn’t make up my mind. I either wanted a patch of grass or bamboo or a barcode. Idk, whatevs. After coloring in Kuya’s tat, we headed towards d’mall because we wanted to buy Tita a cake for her birthday. I went into this surf shop and this girl had this cool cake roll but I couldn’t find the bakery where she got it from! It was so frustrating because we went in circles! At first we wanted to get this cheesecake from a coffee shop but it was about 1200 pesos. Too MUCH! After going around in circles, we finally found a bakery that had cool cakes! I paid 500 pesos for it and it was pretty cool looking. I seriously wish that cakes were that cheap here. Oh! they had crazy crepes there and they had green tea shave ice thing at the crepes place! Sigh! Oh well, next time.

We finally bought starbucks for the second time and I think I spent about ~600 pesos. I can’t remember! I got Jas a mango smoothie and mango cheesecake, Kuya Mark a chocolate donut and a green tea latte for myself. It was a nice starbucks, haha it was all sandy though and the ordering area was squishy. They had rooftop sitting, which was nice I bet at night.

I had read in the travel mag in the hotel that there is this coffee shop that sells these totally famous calamansi muffins. I bought four at 90 pesos each! I put them in the fridge and it tasted really good cold. It was worth my 90 pesos. I gave Tita and Tito so hopefully they ate it for merienda.

When we got back to the hotel we called our parents and told them about d’talipapa and all the other great stuff. We got cut off though. You know, I think in total, we maybe spent about $60 dollars on phone cards so that we could call home.

Kuya Mark wanted to swim in the beach and me and jas were kind of iffy because it was murky and the waves were pretty rough. We went into the water and it was pretty fun. We couldn’t wander off too far because Tita was watching us. I think we spent 15 minutes tops in the water. Kuya Mark didn’t like it because the waves were too rough and he and jas were rolling around. Sooooo,

We went for a dip in the pool! It was fun and we pretty much had the whole pool to ourselves! I think we were swimming for about an hour and then we had to get ready for Tita’s birthday dinner. It was more special because Tita’s high school friends were there to help celebrate.

Dinner was good! I mean, it was the same food as the night before, but we had pancit made especially for Tita. I liked it. I was trying to figure out the best way to present the cake to Tita, so after dinner her friends wanted to look at our hotel rooms and they did. How embarrassing! Haha, Jas was cleaning so fast!

While they were looking at Tita’s room we brought up the cake to her. I mean, the cake looked good, but it didn’t taste good. The frosting was actual butter. BUTTER! The cake was moist though. Haha.

Tita and her friends walked the strip and talked and the three of us went swimming again. The pool closed at 10 so we stayed until it closed. Haha, I think Kuya Mark was sick of the pool. He wanted to hang out with Tita’s friend’s daughter. She was pretty nice! And, Kuya Mark wanted to get another drink again. But I was like…”Noo, its okay.”

I watched TV before I knocked out. It was a good day.
