Trrrrip to Boracay!
Our flight to Boracay was at two something and the flight was about 45 minutes long. It was there where me and jas experienced COMBI. It was the best cracker and wafer combo EVER. Hence the name COMBI! SO YUMMY. Not the strawberry one though!
We flew to Caticlan Airport but we had about an hour and a half drive to, I guess the harbor where all the boats are to get to Boracay. The boat ride was a 10 minute ride, not that long. But it was RAINING! And, they put our suitcases on the rooftop of the boat. So our suitcases were wet. Well, mine was because it was cloth. Half of my body was wet and the other half was dry. I couldn’t really take pictures! :( The bridge to get to our boat was so shakey. Tita Tita was like, “Mark, Mark…” Hahaha. It kind of made me sick, and that was only the bridge!
Omo, there were SO MANY KOREANS. Sighhh.
When we got to the island of Boracay, Tito Jimmy said that Kuya Mark had to find a vehicle that will take us to our hotel and it could be only 200 pesos. Haha, Kuya Mark got us a vehicle but Tito Jimmy wasn’t satisfied. The smoke from our box car was coming into where we were sitting. It wasn’t that bad, but now Kuya Mark and we know that we need to get a box car with a door. HAHA.
We arrived at the Astoria Boracay about 515-ish and it was such a nice hotel. Sister and I were so lucky. We had a different room than Tita & Tito, and they were on the second floor. They overlooked our room so it was good. The good thing about Tita Tita and Tito Jimmy, is that they let us breathe and explore by ourselves. I will be so grateful for them until forever.
We felt so special because they gave us samalamig just without the sago ‘t gulaman. And they put a pandan leaf in it too.
Jas danced around our hotel room because we had a flushing toilet and a shower! Imagine how other people would’ve felt. We were lucky. And we still are.
Tita and Tito said that we will eat dinner around 630 so me and Jas had time to chill and soak it all in.
Since it was cold in our room, I think it was ~65F and it was so warm and sticky outside, our glasses would fog up and my camera would also take a while to get to the temperature outside. AH! I was so freaked! I was scared too :(
Dinner was good, but it was loud and squishy. They decorated everything with pandan leaves! They only had a little bit of desserts though. Kuya Mark ordered Tanduay Ice and I wanted to try because it looked like Smirnoff Ice. And, I’m guessing that it did taste like Smirnoff Ice.
After dinner we walked and explored a bit and then walked back. AH! I was stoked because there was a Starbucks! Jas wanted a hat, like a floppy one so we bought one. I swear she never listens to me when I say that she should just get it before she regrets not buying it.
The shoreline was about 100 feet away. But it was at night and it was high tide. So the shoreline was pretty close. It was pretty windy too.
I can’t remember if we swam in the pool or not. But Kuya Mark and I did get a drink at Astoria’s bar. Jas wanted to come too but I told her no because she isnt 21 yet-BUT in the philippines the legal drinking age is 18.
I think I got a Blue Hawaii? I can’t remember the name of the drink. And then Kuya Mark got a Mojito. The drinks were cheap. Kuya Mark and I got to catch up on everything and it was a really good time. BUT I think my drink was too much because I had a headache and Jas said that I was salty balls in the morning. WHICH was not true. Hahah, alcohol makes me MAD!
We watched TV and since it was Tita Tita’s birthday the next day, we had to wake up early for church.
It was such a good first night in Boracay.
