Heading into Manila

My sister and I didnt even know that there was a typhoon coming until we were in the car on the SCTEX. We were so detached from the world! Tito E wanted to leave at 5 but that didn’t happen because we still had to visit Tita’s cousins. We ate guinataan there and gave them egg pie. Haha, so we actually didn’t leave Cab until 6.

The sky was blue and clear in Cab, but when we were driving into Manila, the sky was scary. It was so dark and black. It was like driving into the unknown.

We arrived in Manila about 9 ish and before we could go to Tito Reggie’s house, we wanted to visit our Ninong Boyong and give him the gifts we had for him. We didn’t really get lost, but it just took a while. It was pouring when we got to Ninong Boyong’s house. Haha, we almost slipped too. Jas just wanted to stay there for the night instead of Tito Reggie’s. And, Ninong Boyong had sinigang for us! Sighh, we couldn’t stay for long because Tita Fe wanted to just go.

I’m pretty sure we didn’t get to Tito Reggie’s house until 1030. I liked Tito Reggie’s house. I wouldn’t mind living there. It seems like its a good enough size. We had a late dinner and Tita Lita and Tito Reggie bought us Jolliebee Chickenjoy and Tita Lita made us nilaga.

We met Tita Chato and our only living grandaunt, Cha… I’m so bad because I can’t remember her name. She is our Lolo Zoilo’s sister. She was very nice and warm.

I was very thankful to have met her. Hopefully my family will get to see her again.

The morning of our flight to Caticlan, we were watching the news to see if our flight would be cancelled. It wasn’t. The only flights that were affected were the flights that were coming into the airport. But it was nerve-racking because you didn’t know if the storm was going to be severe or not.

It took us awhile to get to the airport because it was so traffic. We wouldn’t see Tita Fe for a week and a half. Tito Jimmy greeted us at departures and Tita Tita and Kuya Mark were already inside. Tito Jimmy said we had so much “bit-bit”, which was true. I mean, we had our suitcases, duffel bags, purses and plastic bags. But it wasn’t our fault!

They got to wait in the Philippine Airlines club room thingy. So lucky. Hahah, and Tita Tita gave us sandwiches that she saved from their flight to Manila. Jas didn’t want to eat it. Bleh. So I did.

We were excited!
